What is Evaluation
Spoken language systems are used in a wide range of applications, and
come in many sizes and shapes. Deciding which system to purchase
for your application is hard because:
- There is no public source for test results that helps you decide which
system is best for your application.

There is no system that is optimal across all applications; moreover, new
systems are constantly created and existing systems are updated so that
any available test data become rapidly obsolete.
- Demonstrations of systems at trade shows are biased, yet often form the
sole basis for articles in the trade press.
- Testing systems requires conducting listening experiments with a group
of unbiased people that are representative of your customers; conducting
these tests requires special expertise and resources.
Services we offer
We perform custom evaluations that focus on the specific needs of the
corporate customer. We may decide to either conduct a series of formal
listening experiments or base our advice on our knowledge of the available
systems and on our understanding of the critical features of the target
application. Our expertise in evaluation of speech synthesizers
is based on more than 8 years of research,
and involvement in the international community.
